Friday Story :True love – Peace and Happiness

This item was filled under [ Stories ]

Dear  all  ,

Some  lines  do  not  need  explanations :

True love is neither physical nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

Peace is seeing a sunset and knowing who to thank. The  happiest people don’t necessarily have the best of  everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

I Still Know Who She Is

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80s arrived to have stitches removed  from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an  appointment at 9:00.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would  to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided since I was not busy with another patient, I  would evaluate his wound.

On examining it I saw it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors and got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress  his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

Teacher vs Guru

Dear  all ,

The  ambition  for  me  is  to  make  happiness  School  a  GURUKUL  -  this  was  ancient  residential  school  where  there  was  one  to  one  teaching between  the  guru and  the  disciple .

A  lovely  note  on  how  a  guru  is  different  from  a  teacher …..

DO  give  feedback  -  it  will  help  us  become  better .

I  look  forward  to  my  guru  finding  me …..

TEACHER & GURU

A teacher takes responsibility of your growth
A Guru makes you responsible for your growth

A teacher gives you things you do not have and require
A Guru takes away things you have and do not require

A teacher answers your questions
A Guru questions your answers

A teacher helps you get out of the maze
A Guru destroys the maze

You Are Not Alone

Dear  all ,

When  we  are  in  pain we  think  we  are  alone – NEVER  EVER  THINK  THAT –  Parents are  there Friends  are  there  and  above  all  God  is  there ….

Some  lovely  lines  for  you …

Keep Walking…

Here we stand together,
Dressed in our pain,
Covered with scars
From wounds we did not ask for
Or deserve.

So what now?

We can’t go back and relive our lives.
We can’t take back the innocence we lost
Or make the sadness we felt into happiness.

But we can go on from here,
So let us start.

Kill the fear or it will Kill you

This item was filled under [ My Thoughts ]

Dear  all ,

We  have  seen  many  suicides  in the  last  few  weeks  and  this i s  disturbing me -  what  is  happening  when  someone takes  such  a  drastic  step  -  it  is  the  fear of  the  unknown  we  cover  and  load  ourselves  with  worries .

Our  fears  are  far  more  magnified  than  the  actual  situation  will  ever  be

In  hindi  there  is  little  difference  between  Worry  and  the Pyre  ( chinta  and  Chita ) -  so  kill the  fear,  life  goes  on  inspite of  anything. Give  people  hope  -  look  out  for  people  who  look  down  and  out.  they  are  begging  you  to  speak  with  them  -  only  they  cant say  it .

We  need  to  start  the  Happiness  School  Helpline  sooner  than  I  thought  -  will  work  on  it .

A  lovely  insight  from  a   enlightened  soul  Eknath  Eswaran  on  Fear

In tribulation, immediately draw near to God with confidence, and you will receive strength, enlightenment, and instruction.

Friday Story : How Do You Make People Feel

This item was filled under [ Stories ]

Dear  all ,

Most  of  us  feel  ourselves  to be  perfect ,  but  sit  back  and  contemplate  on  how  do  you  make  people  feel ….

A  long  story  ,  but  do  read  the  last  four  lines……….

Read slowly. Do not rush thru, but do reflect….. .

The Cab Ride

So I walked to the door and knocked. ‘Just a minute’, answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90′s stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets.

There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

‘Would you carry my bag out to the car?’ she said.

I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.
